To design E2E Architecture (High Level Solution Architecture, High Level Solution Designs: HLSA, HLSD) delivered by CIO systems, aligned with Enterprise Architecture Blueprint and principles, ensuring cost effectiveness through optimising reusability and maximising synergies. The IT Architect acts as technical lead during Software Development Life Cycle to assure that implemented changes do not impact overall integrity of delivered systems and are delivered on time as per the CIO commitment pack

IT Architect is a member of IT Architecture team and part of the Enterprise Architecture organisation.

Main Responsibilities:

• Responsible for developing and delivering the HLSAs, HLSDs and at all times identifying opportunities to increase reusability and maximise synergies to increase cost effectiveness.
• Responsible for reviewing and approving F.D.s (Functional Designs) and T.D.s (Technical Designs) for the end-to-end solution, liaising with cross functional teams to achieve high quality designs.
• Responsible for ensuring the HLSA, HLSD produced are compliant and aligned to the Enterprise Architecture Blueprint
• Responsible for actively, taking the lead on or contributing to activities and tasks in your area of expertise in order to maximize both personal effectiveness as well as team productivity.
• Technical management of CIO program/project deliverables, providing technical control and leadership on all CIO deliverables to ensure the technical and operational integrity of the hardware and software systems.
• Acts as the technical lead and authority throughout all project lifecycle stages; from design, to production.
• Responsible for managing and facilitating the flow of information with CIO technical service teams, ECC and CTO technical teams as well as Affiliate groups.
• Aligns CIO deliverables with enterprise architectural principles, corporate technical and operating standards, and Affiliate specifications
• Performs design reviews with the delivery teams.
• Manage the flow down, traceability, and verification of requirements within the delivery teams.
• Directs a design change control board to ensure that all changes are considered in relation to the end-to-end design baseline.
• Aids interoperability testing and monitors technical performance of the system in testing

Context/Environment:
In addition to the CIO direct reports, this position operates within a context of many diverse Liberty Global Europe and UPC Broadband organizations like ECC, CTO, POM and affiliates. The business environment is one of heavy workloads, fast paced activity and very complex technology and operating environments. The ability to continually multitask and develop effective implementation skills is at a premium in a rapidly changing working environment.
This role will be located in Schiphol Rijk, Amsterdam.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
• 3-5 years in a role of IT Architect in Large Enterprises (preferably Telco/cable)
• 2-3 years in a role of Lead IT Architect/Technical Manager in Large Enterprises (preferably Telco/cable)
• Knowledge of Telco standards, architecture frameworks and technologies as SID, eTOM, NGOSS, TOGAF, SOA, BPM, ESB, EAI, Web Services, JMS, J2EE
• Affinity with and/or knowledge of applied software/system technologies used within UPC
• Systems & systems integration engineering experience (end-to-end technical control frameworks)
• Experience as a motivator/’lead person’ on technical programs
• Anticipates and mitigates technical risk; ability to make informed decisions quickly and decisively
• Exceptional analytic capability to gather and interpret technical information and to develop, recommend, and implement solutions

• Proven ability to consult and negotiate in a highly sensitive environment with often conflicting interests
• Strong vendor management skills, particularly negotiation, direction and measurement of vendor deliveries against complex technical requirements
