The purpose of this role is to deliver the CIO Derby roadmap to affiliate operations, enabling new Products and Services within our clients footprint. Using BSS & ERP specific knowledge, coupled with an end-to-end understanding of BSS/OSS/Web and Infrastructure, the Manager Derby Delivery will ensure that the value add to the Business is maximized, and operational stability is optimal.

Position has no Direct Reports
Position does have up to +/- 40 indirect reports per Derby Release (through matrix managed
virtual organisation, and outsourced vendor teams).
Main Responsibilities:
Responsible for ensuring that the strategic CIO & our clients Product Roadmap is delivered to all our clients affiliate operations where the Derby platform is in use.
Be the Single Point of Contact between our clients Corporate and the affiliate for all Derby release activity – ensuring that all corporate departments are aligned to the business requirements, and that the end-to-end Solution Architecture meets the overall business requirement.
Using industry knowledge coupled with the extensive technical knowledge of Derby, ensure that the local affiliate is fully prepared for new functionality being delivered in the platform. Ensure that UAT is prepared, business readiness is prepared, local IT Systems are updated to reflect the new functionality that CIO will deliver.
Ensure SOX compliance through adherence to the CIO SDLC process for all new software delivery.
Ensure all CIO Derby Documentation libraries are updated, to enable CIO Operations have accurate Operational Manuals to maintain and run the Derby systems across the affiliate countries.
Manage, maintain and improve the working partnerships with other corporate teams and the affiliate markets to align BSS deliverables to strategic business initiatives.
Use BSS technical expertise to coach and guide colleagues across all teams.
Create innovative solutions and influence key business stakeholders to adopt solutions providing maximum value for the business.
Contribute to budget management through efficient use of resources and vendor recommendations to create additional value for the business.
Partner with cable industry vendors and influence their product roadmaps to ensure their product roadmaps align with our clients strategic objectives and creates maximum value to our clients .
Position is within the CIO Department, within BSS Delivery Organization.
Position is based in Amsterdam
International Travel is required as deemed necessary by the VP BSS Delivery, or the CIO.
Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
HBO-Level education, or relevant experience.
Telecomms, Internet & Cable industry knowledge.
Project Management, telecom/cable related IT Systems
Ability to negotiate with internal and external people – with regards to service levels and quality metrics
Ability to engage with people from multi-cultural environments, cross-border (non CIO) – both internally and externally in order to achieve the necessary results.
Ability to motivate both internal staff and external vendors
proven track record of delivery of complex solutions in a high pressure environment.
Proven track record of working within an outsourced Application Development contract, with off-shore resources.
Experience of reporting to Senior Management – understanding how to present technical problems & solutions in a non-technical way.
Key Measures:
Operational Stability of the CIO Platforms is maintained within the agreed SLA’s
CIO Management are always informed about delivery status within the BSS & ERP systems, and the approach to resolve on-going problem areas (i.e. no surprises)
CIO Vendors are delivering developed code in the standard and agreed manner without escalation to Senior Management required in order to achieve necessary quality metrics.
Higher detection rate of product latent deficiencies at development stage
Identified incompliance in quality procedures and effectiveness of action plans
SOX/SDLC objectives are met
Working Relationships and Team Working:
Key Relationships to CIO Management, Corporate Departments (CTO, ECC), Affiliate management teams..
Key Relationships to the CIO Architecture, Ops & Infrastructure, OSS, Web, Governance & Planning and Country Management & Service Assurance Teams within CIO.
Key Relationships with the affiliates IT & Business Deployment teams.
Key Relationships to the external vendors & Systems Integrators working with our clients CIO.
